Introduction
Since its inception, EVCA has encouraged and facilitated ongoing dialogue between policymakers, regulators and other relevant stakeholders and private equity and venture capital industry representatives. This dialogue aims to promote a favourable environment for the development of the private equity and venture capital industry, by enhancing government and business efficiency as well as national and European policy and regulatory frameworks.
For the private equity and venture capital industry to continue to contribute to sustained European economic growth, policymakers must address regulatory and administrative barriers, and ensure coherent, inclusive policies. This will enable the industry to continue to provide a continuous financing cycle (see business model) for start-ups, spin-offs, company development, transition and buyout investments, and make returns to its own investors such as Banks, Pension funds and Insurance companies, and their policyholders.
EVCA’s research-based approach to public policy issues ensures that the insights and information EVCA provides are based on practical business experience as well as economic realities. EVCA sets out its key public policy priorities for the private equity and venture capital industry in its White Paper .
