Richard Wilson has followed a career in private equity since 1995, when he joined Apax Partners from INSEAD. Initially he invested in venture and growth capital deals, then for a number of years focused on buyouts, leading the Tech and Telecoms sector team globally and sitting on Apax’s Investment, Exit and Portfolio Committees. Recent deals have included Inmarsat, the satellite services provider; TDC, the Danish telecoms incumbent; and Weather investments, the mobile network operator. He has also served on the boards of a number of portfolio companies.

Richard is the proposed incoming Chairman of the European Venture Capital and Private Equity Association (EVCA) and is a Council Member of the British Venture Capital and Private Equity Association (BVCA). He is a member of the Investment Committee of Gonville & Caius College, Cambridge and a Trustee of the Apax Foundation.
