Buchan Scott: Partner, joined Duke Street in 1999 from industry where he had worked on the flotation and international expansion of Xansa, a business technology services provider.

Prior to that Buchan worked for a leading city firm of solicitors specialising in corporate finance and transactional work including private equity.

Buchan has a degree in law from Durham University, an MBA from Strathclyde University and is a member of the BVCA Regulatory Committee.

Duke Street has been active in private equity since the late 1980s during which time it has raised 6 mid market buy out funds and been through a number of organisational changes including succession from wholly owned subsidiary to the independent firm currently owned by the partners and team. Buchan has played an integral role in the thinking and execution required in implementing sustainable management, operational and governance structures required of the modern private equity firm.
