Mr Rowland has 18 years investment banking, capital markets & finance experience and prior to joining Citi in 2004 he was Managing Director
and Head of Financial Sponsor
Coverage & Acquisition Finance at CIBC World Markets. In his five years at CIBC, Mr Rowland
was instrumental in establishing
the firm as one of the leading
arrangers of Leveraged Finance
for buy-out transactions within
the European market (ranked in the top 3 in both 2001 & 2002 by IFR).
Mr Rowland was also one of 10
leading market professionals selected for Euroweek’s European
Leveraged
Finance “dream team” in 2004. Prior
to CIBC Mr Rowland was Head of Financial Sponsor Coverage at
Barclays Capital in New York, having
previously been a Director at BZW
in London and a senior member of the Specialised Financing division
at HSBC (formerly Samuel Montagu).
Mr Rowland’s extensive transaction
experience includes numerous debt
arranging and advisory assignments,
including several landmark European LBOs such as Hyatt Regency,
Tommy Hilfiger, Elis, Kappa Packaging
and Yell, as well as the IPOs of
Safestore, 3i Infrastructure and
Telecity. Mr Rowland also sat
on the Advisory Board of Invest
industrial, a leading Italian private
equity firm, from 2002 to 2004.
Mr Rowland was named as one of
100 Rising Stars of the International
Capital Markets by Financial News
in 2006.
Mr Rowland received a BA (Hons)
in Economic & Political
Development from Exeter University, he also holds the Securities
Institute Diploma and is a qualified accountant.
